From May 02nd to 04th, 2023, the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products participated in the workshop titled “Establishing Local and Sustainable Production of High-Quality Vaccines in Africa to Enhance Access.” This workshop was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with its Africa Regional Office (AFRO) and Country Office in Kigali, Rwanda.
The workshop, attended by 70 participants including government officials, regulators, and vaccine manufacturers, was dedicated to developing an African policy aimed at aiding African governments, regulators, and manufacturers in enhancing their vaccine production capacity. The objective is to ensure quality and sustainability in vaccine production.
Other objectives of the workshop included:
-Strengthening vaccine production capacity in Africa to align with WHO and international standards.
-Creating conducive local manufacturing ecosystems.
– Strengthening partnerships and collaborative action;
